Let's go Knicks!

No more stress, now I'm straight, now I get it now I take

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

I've been informed that there's an issue with subscribing to episode #55 via iTunes. At this stage, I don't know what's causing the problem. I'll try to figure it out, but in the mean time, you can listen to the episode by clicking the direct .mp3 link in the post before this one.

Cheers.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Apologies for the lack of new episodes over the last couple of weeks. You can put that down to a HEAP of scheduling issues.

Episode #56 has now been recorded and released. In this one, I reluctantly bid farewell to Stephon Marbury as an elated Pmac shows his eagerness to put the Knicks’ Starbury era behind him. We also touch on some other roster moves made by both the Nets and Knicks in the last two weeks.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Episode #57 has now been recorded and released. In this one, we cover all the games played by the Nets and Knicks since episode #55 - discussing everything from the high scoring of Larry Hughes, to the worst Nets loss of the season, to the race for the playoffs.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Sorry for the delay with episode #58 guys. We had a HEAP of tech difficulties from when we recorded the episode, to when it was finally uploaded.

In episode #58 though, Pmac and I discuss the chances of the Nets and Knicks making the playoffs, their mid-week encounter, and a wager involving the season series between the two teams.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Episode #60 has been recorded and was actually released a few days ago (sorry for the delay). In this one, Pmac and I talk about the Knicks and Nets having bowed out of playoff contention; question whether or not the Nets are now tanking; speculate on the success of Danilo Gallinari’s surgery; discuss whether or not Lawrence Frank will be fired; and ponder what shape the Right Hon. Goodyear Blimp (Eddy Curry) will be in come Summer League.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Episodes #61 and #62 have been recorded and released as a double-header.

In episode #61, Pmac and I recap the final games for the Nets and the Knicks of season 2008/09 and discuss the latest news and rumors surrounding the two teams.

http://thesportsfans.hipcast.com/downlo … 196817.mp3

In episode #62, Pmac and I talk about the first few games of each playoff series. We also talk about the season’s awards to date, and unveil a brand spanking new blog for the show.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Episode #64 has been recorded and released.

As Swine Flu takes over my home state - and inevitably, me - Pmac and I try to focus on brighter things; like cutting the cutting of $200m from the cost of Barclays Center, the potential of a Brook Lopez/Carlos Boozer front court, and the possibility seeing of Allen Iverson in a Knicks jersey.

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

I guess I have to listen now that you post on Netsdaily.

Pat led the passing with 7 assists, and his usual steady defensive play held the opposing first squad to no double-digit point getters. He was heard running down the court screaming "If I can't score, you won't either!"

There's a 50% chance of getting either live or die. Obviously you're more likely to die, but if there are two options there is a 50% chance of getting either. -SH

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

Episode #65 has been recorded and released.

In this episode, I forlornly reminisce on Vince Carter’s superb Nets career as VC#15 now gets the chance to win a ring in his hometown and cement his place among the league’s greats over the last 10-15 years.

Pmac and I also talk about the other trades that have gone down so far this off-season, and briefly recap the Nets’ and Knicks’ drafts ahead of a dedicated draft recap episode (the upcoming #66).

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

You guys are fantastic. It's great to hear people with a clue (even if it's hidden behind goofy accents).

Ellington is a SG =P

I think Rat/Forest City Enterprise will sell the majority of his stake with the requirements that Brooklyn goes through, and will lease out Barclays.

While I think TWill's shooting is given too much grief, I wouldn't call him a good shooter. When they say 3 positions, I'm pretty sure they mean 1, 2, and 3. He's a great playmaker, but isn't an inside presence at all.

Thank you very much dude. I appreciate that.

As for Ellington, well I classify him a combo-guard - which added to my confusion over them drafting Rubio and Flynn as well.

I'm not sure I agree re. team ownership, but I think you may have a point. If - by some stretch of the imagination - the team is sold, then I'd expect Bruce to have in a contract for the new majority owner that the Brooklyn move must still proceed.

As for T-Will - you're right. He's certainly not an inside scoring presence as such, but in terms of the positions he can defend and his great rebounding and passing for a man his size, I consider him a combo-forward (with a combo-guard someone I classify as a combination of point and off-guard).

Re: NBA Podcast (Nets and Knicks)

While TWill really shouldn't be our first option for quicker guards like Parker and Paul, I think he'd do fine covering the Williamses, Kidds, and Billupses of the world. I can't see him being able to defend many power forwards. They're either too tall or too bulky.
