How to Read a Basketball Box Score
Here is an Example of a Box Score From a Game:
SHOOTING /\ REBOUNDING /\
FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OFF DEF TOTAL ASSISTS STEAL BLOCK TURNOVER TOTAL PTS
48 - 99 8 - 18 17 - 19 14 42 56 31 7 5 16 121
It is important to note that the field goals made- attempted (FGM-A) includes the the 3pt made-attempted (3PM-A).
This means that 8 of the 48 made shoots were for 3pts, and 18 of the 99 overall attempts were from 3pt range.
This is how scoring is done in American Basketball.
