I think there should be a reasonable amount of time to plan... At least 4 days or so. It doesn't have to be something we know a season before (I think that's *part* of the fun if the idea), but there should be enough time to think of a concrete plan. It's already bad enough that we have to wait to reset players that are on the award watch. If we have to wait to come up with a plan too (there's a HUGE difference between starting at 2x and starting at 3x), that just adds 1 more thing to the scramble and it can be extremely overwhelming, especially if you've been game planning for the playoffs.
In summary: I think we should get at least 4 or 5 days notice of the new West multiplier.
In continuation, I have been writing the team plan for a certain team and am continually chastised for posting it late because I want to analyze all the possibilities and am simply not allotted enough time. Ideally I would want 2 weeks to analyze the options but based on CR history we know that isn't going to happen. I don't think Swag's 4-5 days is unrealistic and seems like a good compromise to me. Intentionally making short notice changes is the opposite of good customer service.

Any word on the base for next season in west?
No. The entire point of changing the base is to not allow advanced planning. I can completely-almost-100% guarantee you that it will be different again. Maybe.
That kind of makes me want to quit west......

Why should there be no advanced planning? I thought the point was to CHANGE planning, not to delay it.

I agree with SwaggerJ, we need at lest a couple days to plan especially since often players have to change their heights to fit into the team plan. I don't think the point of changing the base is to create a mad scramble of team planning at rollover but instead to keep the league fresh. The more advance notice we have about what the constant will be the more participation the league will have. It would help recruiting as well, who wants to join a team that they don't know what the strategy/team build will be or even their position for that matter?

Does said team have serious championship chances?

DD and t$ explained it perfectly. The different base is what will keep it fresh, not the mad scramble. In fact, you should promote West precisely by announcing the base early to get people excited about planning/playing there the next season.

any more discussion on the changing of bases for the other leagues?? Same discussion previously about height changes having a tough impact on training times due to no information when joining

I keep saying it, but if you wanted to break up the monotony of level 6 taking 30+ days of training, simply adjust bases upward in user-specified areas. Having a base of 40-50 in your main with a attribute cap of 350 would be very interesting. Essentially you would have that much more time to train secondaries/anything else, which means greater variability and strategy among players.

yeah what he said. maybe drop the attribute cap even lower. Then you would have even more time to train other things.

Nothing from the man upstairs as yet. Given that this is definitely a dev area, we may not find out until about the same time you do.

That's a good point. I'll bring it up in the mod-cave. Perhaps as playoffs begin.

On the changing of bases for other leagues -- nothing has been discussed on that as yet, I'd suggest nothing will happen there in the immediate future. Well, nothing is imminent that I'm aware of.
On height -- being able to change height is something that's being discussed VERY carefully, as whatever decision that's made is going to impact the game in a very big way. We're trying to make sure that we cover all bases.

With Kaz's regular "State of the game" posts, this hasn't been quite as important. But I'm still here -- opening this up for a little while.

Any chance of the useless Skills such as Defensive Momentum, Stopper, etc being removed so no one wastes an SP on them?

Those skills will definitely face further review so as to assess their effectiveness.

Has anything actually been done to 3pt shooting? It doesn't seem to have changed

That's a question that could really do with a bit more research than simply 5 games.
A broader view would be required, wouldn't it?
