Really, I think it was that there weren't enough competitive teams to support two leagues with the same ruleset.

Whats the difference between the 3 leagues we have now?
Is there enough human roster filled teams to even have 3 league going still?
Serious consideration should be made to merge leagues 1 more time.
2 leagues would be sufficient in the games current state imo smile

Re: Merging Leagues

West League is an experimental league, so basically there are only two competitive leagues (Classic and Jordan). They are both fairly deep, obviously not what the leagues used to be like, but to me it feels like they are slowly getting deeper. I'm happy with two leagues, it give people more chances.

Re: Merging Leagues

west league is done imo...don't think there has been any experimenting going on for a long time like at the beginning...I mean like how long can u experiment with kaz not changing anything there anymore?

I think it would be good for experimenting if the sim was exactly the same as Classic/Jordan. But with a different sim it is hard for us to experiment. Sure, it is easy for Kaz to experiment, but I guess we'll have to wait to see if anything comes from it.

I'd say make West useful for teams to experiment with a simular sim as you said or just kill off West all together.
I'm sure the teams leaving West to join Jordan and Classic would be beneficial for both leagues competition wise. smile

Re: Merging Leagues

Yes it definitely does need to be looked at. The game is dead and Kaz hasn't changed it at all the suit the position it is in. Instead of implementing new features it would be better to fix things that aren't correct or need to be altered. Next season's changes should be a step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go.

Re: Merging Leagues

Agreed!!!
Theres just not enough human filled teams for 3 leagues.IMO theres only enough for 1 healthy competitive league (Classic) and 1 experimental league (West).
A system of demoting and promoting teams would also help keep competition healthy.
For example:
Say Classic League is the only competitive league and west is used as an experimental league.
Demote the worst teams in Classic each season to West and Promote the best teams in West to Classic.
Keep balance instead of watering down the competition with so many leagues. smile

But it should be clear that it isn't that entertaining for new users to play for nothing. Then, the price for premium is just too high to not think about quitting, and the trainings queue without premium is too small.

The key would be to attrack new users. They will have a tough time keeping up at first anyway, but that was suggested from the beginning. I guess Kaz listened way too much to vets at the beginning who have left anyway.

Also, the idea of gym ratting to compete next season is a bad one. Everyone should try to compete every season. Therefore, an incentive like my suggested season-ending tournament is needed. And using Gym Rat should be coupled with a punishment for next season. Also, more balanced players, in which the high level players aren't racking up the stats anymore is something to consider. Nobody wants to have a player who can't create stats, because the 3pt shooter, the rebounder and the blocker are taking everything.

The scheduling system is still a mess, something which should have been adressed a long time ago. Disallow challenges between teams who have more than 2 divisions between them, and then let teams earn something additionally by challening the other team. Also, put a cap on how often teams are playing each other. That start of each season while playing the same team over and over again is just tiresome. Maybe even a fixed division setting where I have to earn the right to play in the highest division by competing the season before is an idea. Than you can use a fixed schedule among those teams. In that way everyone should have a more balanced schedule, which also makes it less desirable to play weaker than your real strength in order to earn more perks.

I really feel that some of the issues can adressed rather quickly. But I also think that they should have been adressed earlier.

Merging leagues would only be feasable, if that is by the Jordan ruleset. That would be the only way to stop that Gym Rat-Compete-Gym Rat cycle.

The Baltimore Bullets (S4 - S17): 395-210 RS record; 38-13 PS record; Runner-up in S 7, 13, 16, 17; Elite 8 in S 6, 9, 10, 12, 15; Pro A/B from S 6 to 17

1st problem we face is everything is falling on def ears.
I haven't smelt a Mod around in along time.
Just checked last sign-in dates on listed Mods/Admins and only TheKaz checked in lately. That was to hand out that disgrace we call Individual Awards.
Not looking good if we want to get anything done.
The 1st step is to put new active mods in place that can help address these issues or at minimum bring it to TheKaz so he can evaluate things. http://emoticons4u.com/happy/1055.gif
